Certification of diamonds
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) are the well known respected laboratories that inspect and evaluate a diamond prior to being set. The diamond grading report, or “certificate” issued by the laboratories certify the diamond as genuine as well as describe the diamond in detail. These documents provide important information in regards to the color grade, clarity grade, carat weight, cut, proportions, polish, symmetry, etc.
